Make one record of the recovery plan
Save the procedure name, discharge instructions, medicines and follow-up dates. Record what the treating clinic expects and who to contact outside normal hours. Different operations require different plans.
Keep questions specific
Describe when a change began and include dated observations. Ask the treating team about wound checks, comfort, activity restrictions and the next review. Product information and online enquiries cannot replace postoperative assessment.
When to use local care
If your pet is in distress, cannot bear weight, has suffered trauma or is deteriorating rapidly, contact a local veterinary clinic. A public information enquiry cannot assess an emergency.
